IAS Preparation Strategy for beginners
Hi everyoneIn this blog, I'm going to share the books that you should follow and the preparation strategy to crack UPSC in the first attempt. I will not tell a story here. So, let's keep it as short as possible.
First and foremost important thing is to build a Strong Foundation -Starts your preparation on ground zero i.e. through basics like NCERT before moving to standard books. Unless as it is ‘is akin to building the apex of a pyramid, while it’s base is unfinished and weak.

What to read is important, but the most important thing is what not to read for UPSC CSE.
WHAT TO READ for UPSC CSE-
Middle Path- From 600 BC, Gautam Buddha’s middle path is as relevant as today as UPSC is concerned. Where vast of Syllabus and only required one book per subject. High Yield Subjects
Environment - Shankar Ias Book(though it covers 1/5
Polity - M. Laxmikant(80% question left out from it.)
Geography - NCERT ( 6 - 12) consider as one book - because without NCERT G C Leong is meaningless, & one standard atlas.
History - Modern India (70% question of respective section comes) - Spectrum.
Economy - Ramesh Singh (required more time) OR
Budget & Economy Survey.IR- The Hindu.
Current Affairs: Vision Ias CA or Insight
News Paper - The
Magazine - Yojana
GS 4 - G Subba Rao, access publication.
Post Independence - NCERT
Society - NCERT, Ram Ahuja
Low Yield Subjects:
Ancient, Medieval & Culture - Old Ncert

STRATEGY for CSE 2019 and 2020
Chakrabyuha Challenge- Whether it’s Mahabharat’s Abhimanyu Character or Economic Survey’s Chakrabyuha Challenge where entry is possible but the exit is not. Same in case of UPSC, aspirant come without strong strategy and determination and waste their precious youthful spirit.catch up the gaps between a serious aspirant and a successful aspirant.go with pragmatic approach i.e. balanced both Static and Dynamic( Current and contemporary issues). And co-relate them. Because 2017 UPSC Prelim proved what UPSC is i.e. unpredictable. Adopt Minimum sources and revise it Maximum times & also go with UPSC TREND…study the mindset and demand of UPSC.work properly on your weakness. Role of elimination on prelims- Any aspirant out of million aspirant, whether he is topper or bottom rank holder no one can’t solve more than 50% prelim question with 100% sure. In that case who solve those 20–30 Q. double elimination with successfully he/she got a chance to write double elimination with successfully he/she got a chance to write mains. P
