SOURCES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

SOURCES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Renewable Energy Sources Definition
Any sources of energy (obviously, natural) which can be replaced and used repeatedly are called "Sources of Renewable Energy".

Sources of Renewable Energy

A few examples of renewable energy sources are:
           Geothermal Energy

  • Geothermal energy is the heat from within the Earths crust.
  • It's environmentally friendly and sustainable.
  • From below the earth surface, the sream drives generators in the plant producing energy.
  • Geothermal energy is limited to sources where there are water sources near hot bedrock.

·         Solar Energy

  • One of the most used sources of energy. It is easily available.
  • Solar panels convert solar energy into electricity, later we use it for our benefits.
  • Also, solar energy could be used to heat up water and other things. We all know that.

·
          Hydro-Electric Energy

  • Using the potential energy of water to rotate a turbine, electricity can also be produced
  • Hydro-electric power is limited to where water is available.
  • We know that, Earth 71% of water. So, using those water electricity can be produced.
  • Also, the creation of dams can cause some environmental impacts.
  • For examples- changes in water levels, flow paths.

·          Wind Energy

  • Using windmills power from wind is turned to energy.
  • It's very popular for energy production.
  • You will get to see these type of production mainlly near sea areas.
  • At the same time, it is generally limited to certain areas which are open and have a continuous flow of wind.

·         Tidal Energy

  • Tidal energy is generated using energy in tides to make power.
  • Ebb & flow of tides creates energy.

·         Biomass

  • Let's talk about examples first- Wood Waste,Landfill, Municipal solid waste,  biogas, wood ethanol etc.
  • Burning of biomass causes the chemical energy in biomass to release heat which is then used to power turbines to generate electricity.

·         Wave Energy

  •  Energy from waves can also be used to produce electricity.
  • The vertical movement of waves is used to generate electricity.
